Stored heat is the heat content of the crucible and the mass in the cover. If a furnace cools down completely over the weekend, this energy has to be re-supplied to the crucible again at the beginning of the next week. A 5-t furnace has approx. 900 kWh as stored heat in the crucible and the cover.
